The Graduation Day

The Graduation Day for students of classes X & XII was conducted first time in the school was celebrated in a very grand manner at the school auditorium on 13.02.2016 at 03.30 PM.

  • The programme started with the photo session of XII and X students with teachers and Principal.
  • The Principal presented the lamps to the students of XII and X for a procession into the auditorium.
  • The Principal, Vice Principal, Academic Coordinators, Class teachers of XII & X and the School Captain lit the lamp and the school choir song the invocation song.
  • A power point presentation on “ They came, they saw and they conquered” was presented .
  • Scripture reading from the Holy Bhagavad Gita by Miss Krishna Manek, the Holy Bible by Mrs. Sheeba Raja and from Holy Quran by Mrs. Yasmin Banu was done.
  • The outgoing students, Vibha, Rajeswai, Bharat, Ashvij and Sujit from Class XII shared their experience in school.

Students of X Std – Megha Arun, Adithvaas too delivered a speech on School.

The Principal presented the mementos to the XII and X students, followed by the Principal’s address.

Naveneeth IX IGCSE, delivered the vote of thanks.

The School choir sang the school song and the school captain handed over the school flag to the school vice-captain as a symbol of transition.

The Anchors for the programme were, Sangeeth, Rishab, Shrey, laquintha, Adithi, Suraj and Aniruth.

A good number of parents had witnessed the programme. The programme has imposed parents & drawn wide publicity of the school and will increase admission also.

The cultural programme was anchored by Sangeeth of IX and Akhil of XI group dance – Naacho India ( IX girls ) Dancing Dragons ( XI Boys ) and Dancing Dils ( XII Boys ) Dancing Dil ( XII Boys ) were the spotlights of the programme.

The Principal along with the choir students sang the Bajan and a kannada song.

Cultural Programme.

Variety is the spice of life. The day of graduation was already full of enthusiasm. The students of IX,X,XI and XII added more spices to the eve. The Cultural Programmes by the students were entertaining, making the grand day all the more lively and colourful.

Group dances nacho India (IX girls ) dancing dragons ( IX Boys ) Leaping moons ( XI girls ), Daring Dils – ( XII Girls ) etc. were very attractive and made the gathering dance too.

The cultural programme was anchored by Suraj and Akhil of class XI. Henceforth there was a crackers show in a common place where all could see and enjoy it. After the colourful sparkles the students were taken out for a dinner.

The vote of thanks was proposed by Navneeth of Grade IX.

CELEBRATION OF TAMIL DAY

“Tamil Day” was celebrated in JSS International School on 30th January 2016, marking the importance of the language and “Tamilian” Culture.

Hem Varshan of class VIII, welcomed the dignitaries and the gathering with his welcome address. The programme began with the lighting of the lamp by the school. Principal followed by Vice-principal, Academic Coordinator, Manager and the Warden.

The teacher and the students of the Tamil department had organized a number of programmes show-casing the verbal talents of the children. There were two traditional dances and a skit enacted too. The stars of the day were Mishitaa of class II, who came in disguise as Lord Muruga, Harsha Padmini of class III as Bharathiyar and Lakshita of class II, distinguished as Thiruvalluvar, she recited more than 40 Thirukural.

The master of ceremony for the day was Mahitha. R of class IX. She concluded the programme with her vote of thanks.

The Principal addresses the gathering and shared a few words of wisdom. He also appreciated the entire team of teachers and students involved in the programme. The programme was a splendid one indeed !.

Republic Day

  • The 67th Republic Day was celebrated with great zeal and pomp.
  • All the students, teaching and non-teaching staff and the alumni gathered for the celebration.
  • The programme started at 09.30 am with the flag hoisted by the Chief Guest Mr Haldorai, followed by the national anthem and marchpast by the students of class VI,VII & VIII.
  • Mariya of class IX delivered the welcome speech followed by the introduction of Chief Guest by the Principal.
  • There was a variety entertainment programme by the primary class children to several patriotism.
  • The school choir sang patriotic songs.
  • The primary class children performed a group dance for a patriotic song.
  • Shitij of class V sang a patriotic song.
  • The senior class children delivered inspiring speech in different languages.

Christmas Celebration

“The sprit of Christmas is the love and sharing. It is the moment of generosity and of goodness”.

Christmas was celebrated in a grand manner on the 9th of December 2.30 PM in the school auditorium. The program was anchored by the students of class XII Rishab, Sandra, Anjana, Pavithra and Vibha. Mr Manoharan , the General Manager of Sterling Biotech, Ooty and Mr Muralikumar , the General Manager of Sullivan Court, Ooty were the Chief Guests.

Rishab delivered the welcome address and the Principal Mr Arokia Raj honoured the guests with bouquet and mementos.

The school choir sang Christmas Carols and other students performed two skits, on the birth of Jesus Christ and the message of His Gospel.

Rajeswari who dressed up as Santa Claus distributed sweets to the students.

JSSIS celebrated all major festivals of all major religions. Last month we celebrated Dusserha & Diwali. This time it was Christmas Celebration.

Industrial Visit – 01.12.2015

The Students of class IX along with a teachers went on an industrial visit to Sterling Bio Tech Ltd. on 01.12.2015. We reached the factory at 10.30 am. The factory manager received us at the entrance and gave a brief introduction about the factory. Then he took us around from one section to the next and explained the process involved in the production.

It was an informative, interesting and a successful visit. Students learned how industries work and what are the needs of industry in next years. Students are greatly benefited.

Expressing gratitude to our Principal. Organizing such visit to the students will help and enhance the life skills of the students.

Inter House Dramatics “ Theater Fest 2015″

The Inter House Dramatics “ Theater Fest – 2015 “ was held at the school auditorium at 2 PM on Saturday the 28th Of November 2015 after the audio visual show. The programme began with the nightingales of our school singing the invocation song. The three judges for the evening to Judge the performance were Mr. K S Ravi, Vice Principal, JSSIS , Mr. Viswanath, Academic Coordinator, JSSIS and Mr. Basavanna, Administrative officer from J.S>S Pharmacy College. The Criteria for assessing the best play were based on the choice of play, stage setting, expression and dialogue delivery and histrionics.

Vayu House came up first with “ The Proposal” by Anton Cherov. It was a laugher feast for the audience. Then came the students of Jala House with “ The Best Laid plans” by farewell Mitchell. It was a colourful and entertaining performance.

After a short break of 15 Minutes of tea Agni House presented the classic “ The Merchant of Venice” by Shakespeare followed by it was Prithivi House with “ The Murder Mystery” by Karl Garner.

Our Principal handed over the momentous to the judges and appreciated the students and teachers for putting up such a mesmerizing show in a very short period of time. Then came the most awaited declaration of results. Jala and Vayu bagged the 1st place followed by Prithivi and Agni respectively. The best actor award was awarded to Rahul of class VI and best actress to Fay of class VIII. The Best supporting actor award was shared by Suraj and Srivatsa of class IX & XI respectively. The award for the best dialogue delivery was won by Navneeth of class IX>

An enlightening evening came to an end with the vote of thanks an National Anthem.

Constitution Day – 26th November 2015

The JSS International School , Ooty Celebrated the constitution day on 26th November 2015. In a solemn manner to mark the importance of the day when our constitution was formed. There was a special assembly conducted, where the students staged a demonstration explaining the “Ideals” of our constitution. The Principal addressed the students on the importance of the ideals and enlightened the students on India being a republic country. He also congratulated  the teachers involved in the celebration. To Kindle the spirit of patriotism and to pay homage to our nation’s great  leaders the patriotic song “Sare Jahan Se Acha” was sung by the school choir. The celebration ended with our National Anthem.

Also a poster-making competition was held to illustrate the messages containing the preamble to the Indian Constitution for all students of classes VI – XII, and the best posters were selected and the winners were awarded with a certificate of appreciation from the school.

Kannada Rajyotsava

The Kannada Diwas was celebrated on 23.11.15 in JSSIS, Ooty. Mr. Muddumahadev gave an introduction about Kannada Rajyotsava.

There was lighting of lamp by the Principal and few other members of schools.

The Welcome speech was delivered by Mr S. Veerabhadrappa.

“Bharatha jananiya tanujatha” song was sung by 7th & 8th Boys.

There was a Hachevu Kannadadha Deepa & Dance by junior girls.

Principal gave a speech on Dravidian languages.

The vote of thanks was given by Mr Manjunath.

Mohan of class XII gave an enlightening speech about the Diwas.

Finally it ended with the National Anthem.
